About

A hypnotic trance is a state of deep relaxation. You will be neither asleep nor unconscious. You will be aware of your surroundings at all times and be able to remember everything that has been said. Your counselor has been trained to properly assist you in transitioning from your relaxed, hypnotic state, to your alerted state.  As you are in control at all times, you always have the ability to alert yourself whenever you wish.

Suggestions that your counselor will make while you are in a hypnotic trance will have to do with the goals that you have set for yourself. These suggestions will only influence you if they feel right to you and if you choose to accept them. Your counselor cannot influence you to do something that you do not want to do.

In order to help you to relax and to enter a deeper hypnotic trance, your counselor may suggest that you focus on an object in the room or an image on your computer screen. There will be no spinning wheel nor swinging pocket-watch that magically puts you into a trance. Hypnosis is not magic. It is a process of relaxation and focusing of your awareness.

Online hypnosis enables individuals to gain the benefits of clinical hypnosis from the comfort of their own home.

Getting Prepared

The following are recommendations for how to gain the most benefit from your session.

  • If possible, wear comfortable clothing that is not too tight.
  • Sit in a comfortable chair, preferably one with arms.  You should be able to rest your feet flatly upon the floor. If the chair is too tall for this, we recommend a small stool or even a telephone book to rest your feet upon. While sitting straight up you should not feel any strain on your back or any other part of your body. Please do not lie down during the session.
  • If possible, turn off cell-phone ringers.
  • If there are outside sounds or noises, this does not mean that you cannot have a successful session. Your counselor will suggest that you interpret any outside sounds as cues to relax even more deeply.

The Presenter

Alina Taylor MA, NCC is a National Certified Counselor who specializes in addiction recovery.  She earned her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling, with honors, from Rollins College.  She earned her Bachelors Degree, graduating Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Vermont. She is certified in Clinical Hypnosis.

Alina is the President and Lead Counselor of The Quit Smoking Cigarettes Organization Inc. and The Quit Smoking Marijuana Organization. 

Alina works with adults and adolescents who are interested in overcoming addiction and releasing unwanted habits. She understands that habits and addictions occur in the context of the whole person and provides a comprehensive program to help individuals reach their goals. Hypnosis has been shown to be an effective tool that individuals can use for a wide variety of applications.  Alina is committed to de-mystifying the process of hypnosis and making it accessible to all who may benefit from it.
